Community Options, a not-for-profit corporation governed by a board of directors, provides services to people with disabilities. Created in 1991 by Chillicothe citizens to address the need for supported living in our community, Community Options has grown to support people with disabilities to live, work and actively participate in our community.
Mission of Community Options:
The mission of Community Options is to provide housing, transportation, employment and educational opportunities, as well as to enhance independence in preserving the dignity and rights of persons with disabilities on an individual basis
Philosophy of Community Options
People with disabilities should have the opportunity to be employed in an integrated work setting in the community.
People with disabilities should have input into available employment opportunities.
Each individual should be provided with opportunities to promote self work and self dignity.
Each individual should be provided with opportunities to prove valuable to the community.
Our greatest resource in people and we must strive to empower this resource to reach its fullest potential.
